AJFO Conference

Since 1985, the AJFO has co-hosted an annual conference dedicated to fostering community and advancing knowledge on effective approaches for supporting women and girls in the criminal justice system. This event provides a platform for correctional systems, programs, and communities to explore evidence-based strategies that promote accountability, competency development, and holistic support.

With more than 400 attendees each year, the conference brings together a wide-ranging network of criminal justice professionals, state administrators, policymakers, treatment providers, advocates, researchers, and women with a history of justice system involvement. As the longest-running and one of the few national conferences exclusively focused on this critical area, the event serves as a hub for collaboration, learning, and meaningful dialogue.

Our goal is to cultivate a dynamic and collaborative community where professionals can exchange insights, build lasting connections, and drive impactful change. Through keynote presentations, interactive sessions, and innovative discussions, we strive to empower those working to create strengths-based, trauma-informed, and evidence-based solutions for women and girls in the justice system.
