About AJFO
AJFO convenes and creates opportunities to advance and promote evidence-based and best practices, policies, and approaches for working with women and girls in the criminal justice system.
Conference
Since 1985, the AJFO has co-hosted a conference in an effort to build community and educate correctional systems, programs and communities on how to effectively address accountability, competency development and the needs of women and girls in the criminal justice system.
The conference has traditionally been attended by more than 400 attendees representing a broad array of criminal justice professionals, state administrators, policy makers, treatment providers, advocates, researchers, and women with a history of justice system involvement. This is the longest-running and one of the few national professional conferences that is exclusively focused on working with women and girls in the criminal justice system. The goal is to create a community where individuals can network and build connections around a shared understanding of evidence-based and best practices for serving women and girls in the criminal justice system.
